    Ryan,
So glad I could make it to the prayer time with you this morning. What a glorious morning of offering prayers to our awesome God. Little did we know that the prayer for safe travel would become so real in such a short time. Again, God answered our prayers and brought all of you safely to the airport. Praying now that your trip will continue with no “glitches”. Sleep well tonight….you’ll have a busy day tomorrow.
    Upholding you in prayer,
    Ellen

    Dear Ryan,

We have been praying for you and the team all day! It sounds like you made it safe and sound! We hope you have a good night! Wish we could be there with you! I’m off to work so will “talk” tomorrow.

    Love,

    Dad and Mom

PS Annie really missed you and Kristin! She spent the morning in the girl’s room and didn’t eat until around supper time. She seems to be doing better now.

    Ryan,
Hope you had an awesome day today building a home and that you worked well with your teammates. I’ll be praying for the family you are building the home for, that if they are not Christians, that they will want to accept Jesus into their hearts. Keep safe, stay strong, sleep well and be God’s hands and feet as you serve Him.
    Blessings,
    Ellen

    Good Morning Dear Ryan,

We hope you slept well last night. We’ve been thinking about you and praying for you. We’ve been praying for strength and health for you as it sounds like you have a very busy schedule with hot, humid weather, although since you have been exercising, your stamina will be strong! How has the food been? Are you and Kristin drinking enough water? Have you helped anyone with medical problems? I’m so glad that you brought your EMT equipment a long. I’m not familiar with the medical system in Guatemala.
We’re doing well at home. Erin did good on her nutrition test yesterday! Both G’pa and G’ma T. and VH say “Hi” and are praying for you! I’m off from work today so will help the mom with her twins one last time. It will be sad to say good-bye. Dad’s been working hard but has been coming home on-time so that’s been good. Tony and Becky may stop by tonight for a bit. Tony said that he will spend some time with Hans today as he doesn’t have orientation today and Becky is working all day.
We love you and miss you so much!

    Good morning Ryan,
WOW! I can’t believe it is Dedication Day already! Praying that it goes smoothly and that many more lives will be eternally changed by what you and the team have been doing through the Holy SPirit! You are an amazing guy. I had no idea that you had EMT training! That is awesome! Make sure you let KEvin and Dan know that, for tomorrow at the Med clinics! That is fabulous. I am sure you will continue to be used in mighty ways. Praying for an awesome day today!
    Big hugs,
    Kristy

    Hi Ryan,

Here it is Saturday, and I don’t have my right-hand mechanic with me to work on the cars. I miss having you around (for MORE reasons than just working on cars, though!) I need to get Erin’s car into the shop today. She needs one to two new tires on her car–there’s always something!

It has been fun looking at all the pics on the blog and seeing you and Kristin interacting with the other Ivanresters and some of the kids there. Looks like you are both doing well. With you having grown up in Haiti (also a poor country, but which was “home” to you), it makes me wonder what comparisons you may be making with what you are now seeing in Guatemala. Also, how’s communicating in Spanish? Is it all coming back to you? Nothing beats being right there with native speakers of the language. My guess is that with all that you are experiencing down there, you will need to some time to absorb and sort through what it all means for you and what God may have in store for you as you look to the future. We pray that God brings clarity to it all.

It was certainly quiet around here last night. Of course mom worked, but Erin also had a sleep shift at Pine Rest. So it was just Annie and myself keeping each other company. She seems quite lost without you and Kristin around. Also, though, mom and I had a nice supper out with Gpa and Gma Van last night before mom took off for work. Went out for Chinese. That was a change for Gpa and Gma since the only place they usually like to go is Rainbow Grill. It was good food. We may want to go as a family some time.

Sounds like you may have clinics today? That should be a good experience for you. I know I enjoyed helping out with those in the Dominican Republic. Can’t wait to hear all about it.

Well, we’ll catch you later, Ryan.

    Love,

    Dad

Hey Ryan!! =) It has been so fun seeing the pictures that have been posted – looks like you all are having a GREAT time!! The kids are so cute – looks like the group has really connected well with them! The houses are also looking good! What a fun experience! Today is Saturday, so you are at the clinic, which will probably be really interesting to you since you’ve had EMT training =). I can’t wait to hear all about it!! =) I hope the next couple of days go well for you and we look forward to hearing all about your trip when you get back!! Love you so much!! =)

    Erin =)

    Dear Ryan,

We hope your last work day went well! I wish I could have just “blinked” and been there with you, helping at the clinic! We are looking forward to hearing all of your stories! Kevin has written some amazing notes to us all about your experiences. It sounds like the Lord has been touching lives. We hope you have a fun day tomorrow as “tourists”. We’ll be thinking and praying for you as you leave Guatemala on Tuesday. It is always so sad to leave those dear people. Wish we could take them all home! 🙂
We love you so much and look forward to seeing you!
    Chesed,
    Mom and Dad

    Ryan,
It was so good to see you in the pictures from the clinic!! Your EMT training was definitely being used for God’s glory. Thank you for sharing of your self with the team and the Guatemalans! I can’t wait to hear more of your stories. I told your sister that we need to go out for desserts so I can hear even more!!! You are an amazing young man who is making a difference wherever you are. I am praying for you right now as you are returning back to base from another amazing experience. Praying for safety.
    Big hugs,
    Kristy
